This year, the Voyager Exhibit focuses on the June, 2019 voyage of Makali‘i to Mokumanamana. Every year, students from surrounding schools visit the exhibit for a tour with a member of Nā Kālai Waʻa, where they can learn about voyaging and the steps it took to make a voyage possible.
Last week, Cherise Mondon and her students from Waimea Middle School toured the exhibit with Nā Kālai Waʻa crew member Kealiʻi Bertelmann. They learned about Waimea Middle Schoolʻs contribution of cordage and food from their school garden. They also did a scavenger hunt worksheet where they had to use the information shared with them or find the answers in the pictures and captions on the walls. Mahalo for allowing us to share our voyage with you!
